Great choice for the beginning drummer.

Love, Love, LOVE my Meinl hats. Bright, crispy CHIKKS, and melodious barks. ARE there better hats on the market? Sure there are. For a guy like me, still learning; I don't think there's a better set of hats for the price. Big ups and loud shout-outs to all the cats and kitties there at Sweetwater.

These are the first cymbals i've ever purchased since i got my beginner drum kit and these are a definite improvement for their price. I've played jazz and rock beats on these and it works well with both

dirt cheap and fairly low toned. Might not be great in a dive bar with a haunted P.A. from 1973 but these are great for recording drums with a minimal, 1950s-1960s style mic'ing. I'd recommend these for anyone buying drums for a beginning drummer in their household because they are not all that loud and they are way less shrill to hear echoing through the house as someone learns hi-hat technique.

They sound great, heavy duty. Not junk by any standard.
By the way there was a computer glitch with my order, one phone call and it was rushed!
The reason I prefer doing business with Sweetwater, Follow through and great service!
