A Trigger That Disappears into Your Kick

Blending an acoustic bass drum with, say, an 808 kick sample is hotter than ever. And today's drummer needs a trigger that's quick to set up, durable, and accurate. The Yamaha DT50K meets all these criteria. It seats easily on the hoop of your kick drum and locks into place with a non-marring, hand-tightened thumb screw. The Yamaha DT50K's soft padding has no audible impact on the tone of your drum. Even better, its die-cast metal housing blends seamlessly into your drum hardware and protects the element from damage out on the road.

Installs in seconds

The DT50K installs by hand without adhesive. Just slide it over your batter-side bass hoop, tighten the knurled thumb screw for security, and voila — plug in the included cable and start adding new textures to your kick sound.

Stands up to nightly abuse

What Sweetwater first noted about the DT50K is how tough it looks and feels in the hand. We know weekend warriors will appreciate the stick-deflecting metal housing and road-worthy dependability.

Integrates into DTX drum modules

The DT50K's TS output readies it for several Yamaha DTX drum modules. And thankfully, its universal cable makes it compatible with just about every interface and module.

Yamaha DT50K Acoustic Bass Drum Trigger Features:

  • Single-zone trigger for bass drum
  • Trigger electronics from a live drum performance
  • Blend samples with live drums in the studio
  • Installs and breaks down in seconds
  • Won't mar your bass hoops or impact your acoustic tone
  • Tough die-cast metal housing is built for the stage
  • Blends cleanly into your drum kit
  • Incorporates into the DTX series
  • Included TS cable is compatible with most drum modules and interfaces

Yamaha Trigger

So far, this is great, using it to trigger samples from a DTX 502 module on a Yamaha bass drum.
Looks great as well.
Always a pleasure buying from Sweetwater!

can't get it to work

I don't know if bass drum hoops depth varies between manufactors but to mount this solidly the foam is pressed hard against the head, and it just doesn't trigger . not happy with this after spending a bucks on it .

Yamaha bass drum trigger

Trigger would not work with Alesis drum pad. I have a 2 ply head on my bass this trigger did nothing when the head was struck. I talked with tech support and followed their instructions. Still did not trigger.
