Affordable pedal

This pedal is what I expected for the price. I used it for the first time last weekend in a gig. It worked well. The only thing I would like better is If the reaction of the pedal was a bit faster. But I"m playing double kick speed on the Cajon. Worth the money for as much as I"m going to use it.

Bad Cable Assembly Design

Reading the last 6-reviews... I'm moving on to another brand of pedal after 2-cable breaks from what appears to be a design error in aligning the cable to the pedal. Without a re-engineer of the unit (not worth my time), I don't think there is a fix.

Good Value But...

I've had this pedal for almost two years and have been generally happy with it. However, the cable just broke and based on the way this cable system is manufactured it is too difficult to repair. I'm very comfortable with bike brake and shifter cable repairs, have the necessary tools, but this cable system has proprietary elements and can't be repaired in the same manner. This should be the case instead of having to buy proprietary hardware for a simple cable break repair.

Doesn't seem to be adjustable?

I cannot figure out how to adjust this pedal. The pedal's rise is too tall for me, and the tennis ball beater is too far from the drum. It really bounces off the wood once it actually gets there. It also doesn't come with a drum key, so folks who only play cajon and don't have drum keys laying around will need to order one or risk damaging the nuts with a wrench, like I did. Live and learn.

Wow. Just wow.

I've purchased two of these.

The chain link broke on one. I contacted Gibraltar, and they said they don't know which piece that broke. Took about a month of back and forth before they said they would just send me a brand new 'upgraded' version, since they couldn't replace the (small, simple) part that broke.

Well, that 'upgrade' came, and I was playing it for about an hour...and the cable frayed and snapped. I took the cable off my old pedal...and it broke within an hour, in the exact same place.

And remember how I said I had two? Well, I was using the second one relatively problem free...until my gig last night, where the chain link snapped.

So, three out of three pedals have broken. And I don't play particularly hard. What a waste.
