No it’s not like a $1000 pedal
That said, I bought this for a student who has an electric set to get the feel of playing feet like hands using the Stone "Stick Control" book. Springs are stiff and bearings are not $200 a pair, but for the price, you can't go wrong. The upside is if it's a stiffer feel, it will condition a young player to get stronger with more control as a higher grade pedal can easily out-play the student!
