Off-set Design for a Crisp Snare Sound!

This PureSound Percussion Equalizer Series Snare Wire is 14" with 16 strands.

PureSound Percussion's Equalizer Series snare wire is designed to work in conjunction with the snare drum's natural acoustics and bed design, in order to modify the spread and activity of the snare sound. Thanks to an off-set design, the Equalizer Series snare wire removes the strands from the middle of the drum, which decreases the vibration of the wires. What this gives you is a drier, crispier sound. What's more, your snare sound will be less influenced by sympathetic vibrations from other drums and instruments, with the PureSound Percussion Equalizer Series snare wire.

PureSound Percussion Equalizer Series Snare Wire Features:
  • 14" with 16 Strands
  • Off-set design, removes strands from the middle of the drum
  • Gives you a drier, crispier sound with fewer sympathetic vibrations
Choose PureSound Percussion Equalizer Series Snare Wire to nail your ideal snare sound!

Did It's Job Perfectly

I do like my snare, but it has a habit of adding a bonus sizzle to any bass guitar playing in the same zip code. This fixes that problem almost entirely. It also reduced the sympathetic buzz from the floor tom. I agree that it is a bit on the long side, so you have to be careful on installation. It does what I wanted it to do very well though. These are my new snare wires.

Problem Solver !

I originally bought these snare wires to improve my " Snare Buzz issue" . I found that they did help ! A new snare head and tuning and I'm back in business. I would like to point out that I didn't sacrifice the snare response in changing to these Puresound Equalizer Series snares.
Music background: Drumming for 55 years and still Kicking !!

Sweet

Didn't really have any idea what these would do. Wasn't a drastic difference. But it was alot less noisy but still has nice crisp wire sound at low and high tension. The fundamental throatiness of the drum seems to come through more. 14x5.5 PDP concept maple, thick shell, die cast batter hoop...loud as heck

Sympathetic buzz = gone!

To start off, I got a 2nd new snare, a 14 x 5.5 Sonor Birch, and put PureSound Blaster Series wires on it, but my 10" tom caused too much sympathetic resonance, a hard-to-ignore dominant buzz. So I then tried detuning the tom and/or snare, and neither worked 100%.
I then remembered that I slapped these PureSound Equalizers on my 13" Pearl Maple Piccolo, and loved the results of that, so I then came back to Sweetwater's site and got 14" PureSound Equalizers for my new Sonor and, ba-bang! -- it worked.
I was surprised: the wireless space in the center of these wires is not a gimmick. It works! 100% in my case, without tuning or fuss.
Music background: Played drums and/or lead vocals in various prog/thrash metal bands since the early '80's.
