Zildjian L80 low volume symbols

I love them. They have a crisp, clean sound. Graduated size holes allow for different tonal Pitches. And the bell even sounds great.

I use them on my Yamaha electronic practice kit instead of the standard electronic symbols. I use an overhead mic so I can listen to them on headphones quietly or fill the room with sound

Just perfect

I just started playing the drums and didn't realize the noise issue. I live in a house and
Wife tried to be cool about it, but in the evenings is when I like to play most which kinda cased a bit of a problem.

Once I got these symbols as well as Black hole drum covers made all the difference.

I can play whenever I want with a noise reduction of about 80 % or more!

The symbols sound decent, but the high hat is the best, it all just works as intended.

The Black hole covers are AWSOME because you can still hear the drums pitch but way lower.

I would recommend to anyone.

So worth it

Seriously low volume but the hi-hats and ride sound great. The crash is okay.. not great.
I use these with my electric kit since I could not stand the rubber hi hats/ride.

Great for practicing!

These cymbals are great for practicing in the living room! I might even use them in quiet venues! I highly recommend!

Game changer

Paired with the Remo silent stroke heads, these have enabled me to keep drumming in lockdown, and I'm not sure what better compliment or recommendation there can be.

They sound surprisingly good, in my tiny practice room I definitely prefer these hi-hats to my usual A customs, purely as the latter are so loud.

Only positive/negative is that the hi-hat closing is now pretty loud compared to all other drums, so slack foot tapping is extremely noticeable. So going to have to work on that!
Music background: Drummer aspiring to learn guitar

What Do Our In-house Gear Experts Think?

Bart Amburn

I've been drumming for 15 years, and Zildjian's Low Volume cymbals completely changed the way I practice. I use these cymbals in combination with Remo Silent Stroke heads and they really go well together. I actually picked up these cymbals when family came in from out of town for an extended stay, and I needed a way to practice, without waking anyone up. Not only did these Low Volume cymbals let me play, my whole kit still felt and sounded like a real drum set!

Ask any drummer at Sweetwater, and chances are, we'll tell you that Zildjian represents the gold - or rather bronze - standard in cymbal making. Seriously, Avedis Zildjian may have been trying to make gold, but he did even better when he formulated what's arguably the best cymbal material on the planet. We've played virtually every type of Zildjian cymbal out there, and you won't find anyone at Sweetwater who wouldn't happily recommend their instruments to you, plus their sticks and other accessories are also pretty sweet. Whether you're grabbing your first S or ZBT pack or have saved up for the A or K series cymbals you've always wanted, Sweetwater is your source for all things Zildjian.
