HiHat/controller

A nice upgrade from the non-control HH that came with the DTX6X…

Awesome pad

This pad plays great! I upgraded from the stock cy65 pad and the hh65 pedal. I am now using this pad with a real hi-hat stand Tama Iron Cobra HH905. I am very satisfied that I can place it at about an 11:00 position instead of a 9:00 position and I am able to play with either hand on this pad. Great positioning for playing 16th notes with both hands. The foot pedal on the hi hat stand works great and produces the chic sound when the hat moves up and down. The only thing that I have not experienced was the close, parcial and open hat sounds as I have an older drum module that does not support this feature. Other than that, I would recommend this product to a musician.

Near Perfection (...near)

I use this pad with the Yamaha HS850 Hi-Hat Stand, and the two are a great pair. The pad is a very nice piece to play, with only a couple of minor performance issues:

The first issue that I run into is that the pad does not always come down flat when I "close" it quickly after striking it, which can cause it to not trigger the controller properly, which, in turn, results in sloppy opening and closing alternations at times.
The second issue is that the pad seems to have some kind of built-in rejection system; if I strike the edge section with fast 16th-triplet or 32nd notes, not every note will play (and I no it's not the module, as all rejection settings are off; plus, this does not happen when I strike the bow section).

Overall, the pad feels great to play and performs rather well; I would recommend it.
