Ready. Choose your settings and press Start.

Make the click work for you

Select a one or two bar count-in to prepare your sticking before practice bar 1. Start with quarter notes and play a simple groove. Add subdivisions to hear where your notes fall between beats, then return to quarter notes to test your internal pulse.

Explore swing

Select eighth notes and move swing from 50% toward 67%. The first eighth lasts longer and the second gets shorter; the quarter-note tempo stays the same. Tap several times to estimate a tempo.

Keep this page visible for accurate timing. Playback stops when you switch tabs or lock your screen. All sound is generated in your browser.

Instructions

  1. Enter Tempo (BPM) and Beats per bar, then choose a Subdivision.
  2. Set Accent first beat, Count-in and a comfortable Click volume.
  3. Select Start and play along. Use Tap tempo several times to estimate the pulse you are tapping.

Understanding the result

At 60 BPM, each quarter note lasts one second. Eighth notes split it into two clicks and sixteenths into four. A count-in gives you preparation bars before practice bar 1. Begin with a simple groove before adding faster subdivisions.

What to do if you cannot hear the click

Check Click volume and your device's selected audio output. Start playback with the button and keep the page visible. If changing swing seems to do nothing, select Eighth notes: the swing setting applies only to that subdivision.

Summary

Use a manageable tempo and listen for steady spacing before increasing the speed.
