Drumeo Practice PadStand Review (2024)
The Drumeo PadStand is very like a snare stand, but it’s purpose-built for practice pads with its smaller claws and a more lightweight and portable design. Drumeo recently sent me a sample to review and I’ve been quite pleased with it.
Regular snare drum stands are not very well suited for practice pads. They’re usually too short, their claws are too big, and they’re way heavier than required for a practice pad.
The Drumeo PadStand is an outstanding option for mounting 12” drum pads. I tested this with the P4 practice pad, the Quietpad, and an older HQ RealFeel pad. They all fit very nicely.
If you have a small practice pad (like a 6” one) check at the bottom to see if it has an 8mm mounting thread. If so, you’d be able to attach it to a cymbal stand instead of using a PadStand!

Verdict
The Drumeo PadStand is compact and ergonomic. Its thoughtful design, lightweight but sturdy construction, and portability make it an excellent choice for drummers of all levels. Despite being pricier than some alternatives, it’s certainly worth considering. Drumeo really understands the needs of drummers, and that certainly comes through in their product designs.
Pros
- Sleek design with discreet branding
- Lightweight and portable
- The claws have a very secure grip without overhang
- Rotated basket for ergonomic practice
- Extended height for improved posture
Cons
- It’s a bit pricey
First Impressions
As far as first impressions go, I was really impressed by its sleek design and attention to detail. The discreet branding and cool blue accents add a touch of personality to the otherwise practical device. Setting it up was a breeze, and its lightweight construction made it easy to move around.
Design – Claws, Height, and Basket
The PadStand is made to fit most practice pads easily. Its shorter claws are one of the main selling points of this stand so you can practice without any constrictions and tiresome overhang hits.
The rotated basket is also very handy, which allows you to rotate it 90 degrees, so you can get it in the exact right position.
Snare stands are generally way too low down for proper placement of practice pads. This makes sense as snare stands are a lot deeper than practice pads. The PadStand is taller than regular snare drum stands for this reason.
What’s the Built Quality Like?
The PadStand is lightweight but it certainly feels sturdy and well-built. At first glance, I thought this might look a bit flimsy, but it’s actually quite a solid unit and it’s very stable when practicing.
Portability
One of the standout features of the PadStand is its portability. The foldable design as well as the added height make for a portable practice tool. It’s compact in size and it can fit in a backpack.
Pricing
While the Drumeo PadStand may be priced higher than many other options on the market, its quality construction and thoughtful design justify the price in my opinion. The enhanced features, such as the rotated basket and extended height, make it a valuable addition to any drummer’s practice setup.
Verdict
The Drumeo PadStand really stands out for its smart design. It’s lightweight, portable, and just does its job extremely well. Its secure grip, adjustability, and ergonomic benefits justify the cost. Drumeo has crafted a product that clearly addresses the needs of drummers, making it a worthwhile investment for enhancing your practice sessions in my opinion.
